Everything Will Crystallize In Time
There is no way to hold eternity. I work with glass which is charged with sentiment and memories. Glass that belonged to my grandparents, and glass which was part of a friend’s grandfather’s life work. I pull them out of storage and place them on a path of research and creation. A path meant to remember without commemorating. I inflate and deflate, creating numerous new objects varying in size and color. These emerge from surfaces of melted candy, whose shape, in continuous flux, reflect the uncontrollable deformation which belongs to the future and that will transform the glass over the years. Organically, the work spreads through the exhibition space, growing inside of it. Work Dimensions: Objects in varying sizes Materials and Techniques: Laboratory glass, fusing glass/stained glass, candies Mixed techniques - casting, blowing, slumping, lampworking.
